Cara Cara Navel Oranges

Description

Cara Cara Navel Orange is a much appreciated variety on the market because it presents with an excellent colour combination of red in its interior due to its high content in lycopene (antioxidants). Its flavour is sweeter than a Navel orange.

Its sweetness and its high juice content make it a much appreciated variety in gastronomy. Its fruit is of medium size, rounded and with a more prominent belly than other variations of Navel orange. Its shell is an intense orange colour of medium thickness, firm and slightly rough. Date of harvest from the 22nd of December to the 1st of February.

A bit of history

They originated in Venezuela in the CARACARA fields and it’s a variety of the Navel group. It was introduced in Spain in 1988. The most appreciated flavour of Cara Cara Navel on the valencian market is found in Tavernes de la Valldigna.
